Created in the late sixties and early seventies, Platen's images introduce over 60 artists who were little known then but are famous today. The photographer was inspired by the uniqueness of the artists and their works. It was her aesthetic intention to show the artists in their context, or to create a visual connection between artist and work, work and artist. In this way, Angelika Platen realized a personal and aesthetically convincing interpretation of the artistic creation of the time.
