Blue skies, bright sunshine, a relaxing afternoon by the pool, mild summer evenings surrounded by tropical vegetation or a dip in the cool water: our new exhibition FAR AWAY takes us to places we long for. The pictures on display masterfully capture the summer atmosphere that we look forward to all year round and whisk us away to faraway places. They literally immerse us in very different scenarios, refreshment guaranteed.
In Mahssa Askari's works, the play of light and colour in the picture, memory and fantasy merge into a unity. The seemingly weightless images leave the viewer room for their own interpretations.
The artist duo Sandra Casagrande & Roberto Recalcati transport us to a lush Garden of Eden. They paint lush, complex floral compositions that depict the blossoming, full bloom and decay analogous to the cycle of life.
Christine Gallmetzer's breathtaking high-diving figures float towards the cool water with great perfection, lightness and elegance in front of dreamlike, shimmering backgrounds in Olympic-standard acrobatics.
Leszek Skurski's pictures are reminiscent of film stills that capture a content, a character or a mood. The deliberate reduction only gives the viewer clues and suggestions, which he can fill with stories and colours himself.
Leif Trenkler creates impressive stagings with expressive light reflections, snapshots and everyday scenes in complex colour compositions that oscillate between fiction and reality and capture magical moments.
