BENEATH YOUR FEET

BENEATH YOUR FEET (25.09.-12.11.2022)

On September 24th at 5pm, in the presence of the artists, we will open our large autumn exhibition BENEATH YOUR FEET, a group exhibition with works by Isa Dahl

by Isa Dahl, Reiner Heidorn, Gisela Krohn and Sigrid Nienstedt, whose paintings revolve around the theme of nature in the broadest sense.

We have used the time of the pandemic increasingly for research and studio visits in order to discover new and relevant positions for the gallery, including the artists mentioned above, whose paintings we present in the exhibition BENEATH YOUR FEET.

The unifying narrative is the themes oscillating between poetry and concept. Nature as a source of inspiration, realised by the four artists in a very independent way. This is also the attraction of this exhibition in the juxtaposition of the positions.

The artist Isa Dahl, who lives and works in Stuttgart, paints large-format abstract paintings that are distantly reminiscent of stylised grasses. With clear lines, overlaps, overlays and underlays, the artist creates an incredible dynamism and spatiality.

Reiner Heidorn's paintings are an ode to life and its transformation, whether green forest thickets or a mysterious underwater world, their narrative is metamorphosis, change, which the viewer also experiences in his own life.

At first glance, her subjects are rather traditional; Gisela Krohn mainly paints forests and avenues. In her works she captures moods, thereby translating her personal impressions into colour-intensive pictures of unbelievable intensity.

A sports field, a street with lanterns, mountain ranges at a lake, no real existing places, the artist Sigrid Nienstedt confronts the viewer with imaginations and illusions. Through her intensive and impasto application of paint, she gives nature a stage.

In the exhibition BENEATH YOUR FEET four extraordinary artistic signatures are shown, the connecting element between them is nature. The paintings enter into a relationship with each other and take the visitor on an exciting journey of discovery.
